Surgical treatments for small animals
Medical Treatments
Avenue Road Veterinary Surgery has long experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of conditions via medical means. We also offer dental work.

Laboratory work
One of the problems faced by vets is that an animal cannot describe how they feel, making a diagnosis more difficult. We use sophisticated laboratory techniques to identify the problems that your pets cannot tell us about, including haematological analysis to examine blood composition and biochemistry to identify potential liver and kidney problems.
Ultrasound
Our Ultrasound machines provide specialist x-rays which can help to determine tissue density, which can be helpful in extrapolating whether an animal's organs are functioning properly. Ultrasound can also be used to diagnose pregnancy or identify malignant growths.
ECG analysis
Electrocardiography is the science of recording heart activity. We can use our ECG machines to examine the electrical activity within your animal's heart and changes in heart chamber size. Such information can be used in treatment and to pre-empt future problems. ECG analysis does not cause animals any stress.
